Telling Stories: Digital Humanities Documentation of Linguistic Diversity in Hong Kong

The goal of the project is to document the linguistic diversity of Hong Kong and to create a digital archive which presents the inclusive linguistic profile of nonethnic Chinese and the deaf community and is easily accessible for use as a teaching and research tool.

Impact / Expected Impact

The website went live in July 2022, with 195 stories collected from speakers of 70 languages/ varieties and translated into English and written Chinese and Hong Kong Sign Language. 516 visitors to the website have been recorded in a month after its launch.
