Impact / Expected Impact
This project aims to develop a user-friendly software, namely "Oroeasy", on oral exercises for elderly suffering from weakness in oral motor muscles to improve speech and swallowing functions. With a build-in feedback system, both the clinicians and the persons can keep track on the progress of the oral exercise training. With a notification function, it could remind people to perform the oral exercise training that could improve the compliance in performing the exercises. It is hoped that the elders will be more motivated and be more willing to adhere to the exercise training programs. In a long run, health outcome (e.g. swallowing) could be improved or at least maintained.
