Stepping into July, the "Smart Silver" Digital Inclusion Programme for Elders has been in place for over half a year. The implementing organisations continue to help elders in mastering digital technology and embracing smart living through diverse approaches.

In addition to regularly offering digital training workshops and providing technical support in the community-based help desks across 18 districts, the programme actively expands its collaborative network by partnering with local organisations and professional groups to jointly organise training classes and activities, working together to promote digital inclusion for elders. Collaborating organisations include the Senior Police Call, Care Teams, Community Living Room, Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service and The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation Community Rehabilitation Network, etc.

Furthermore, representatives of the programme joined District Council meetings of different regions to promote the programme, hoping to leverage the power of the District Council to raise awareness among more elders about the conveniences brought by technology, thereby enhancing their quality of life and sense of happiness.

Smart Sports (Geron-Tech Olympic)
Funded by the SIE Fund, the innovative project "Smart Sports (Geron-Tech Olympic)" combines gerontechnology and innovation in sports training to promote preventive exercise for elders. Partnering with care homes, elderly care centres and other institutions, it provides "SportsTech" courses, including augmented reality deep squat anti-fall exercises, virtual reality fencing and interactive running, helping elders to strengthen muscles and improve reflexes through fun and engaging interactions, thereby reducing the risk of falls.

"Geron-Tech Olympic" will also be organised to encourage elders to stay fit through sports. Young people with special educational needs (SEN) and young-old will be recruited as ambassadors to connect with singleton and doubleton elders, fostering intergenerational inclusion.
