PIC – The Mills

Vanessa embarked on her role as the Property and Business Development Director for the Nana Fung Development Ltd in early 2015, after joining the company in 2013. Her current work includes exploring and developing new business opportunities for the company using her creative mind in drawing relationships between different fields, in addition to assisting the Managing Director in all aspects of work in the Property Development and Investment Division, including property and business development, asset management, sales, and design.

Vanessa is the initiator and champion of The Mills – a revitalization project of the old Nan Fung Textile Mills into a global innovation textile / apparel gallery, incubator and retail destination. Prior to joining Nan Fung, she worked for AECOM (Asia) as a Landscape Designer, and was responsible for both public and private commercial and residential projects. She also secured a part-time faculty position as a guest lecturer at the University of Hong Kong, teaching City Branding. She hopes to inspire the younger generation and push Hong Kong’s leadership potential beyond the status quo.

With her energetic and multi-disciplinary outlook and approach to life, Vanessa is a convener of NarrativeHK, an initiative promoting positive attitude and increased confidence among her generation in envisioning the future of Hong Kong. She is also a co-founder of Quo Kefir Believers, a natural probiotic health food company.

Vanessa graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. She further pursued her graduate studies at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and obtained her Master’s in Landscape Architecture.

When she gets a free second from work, Vanessa loves to swim and hike, travel, name trees along her walks, daydream of possibilities in her city, make connections with people and the community, and above all, imagines what could be.
