Entering December, "Smart Silver" Digital Inclusion Programme for Elders reaches the important milestone of its one-year implementation. Over the past year, through the joint efforts of all implementing organisations and collaborating partners, the programme has continued to progress steadily, enhancing the digital application capabilities and confidence of the elders through diverse channels, helping them integrate into smart living.
The implementing organisations not only regularly offer practical training courses, but also set up community-based help desks across all 18 districts of Hong Kong to provide accessible technical support and consultation services. Furthermore, the programme actively collaborates with local organisations and professional bodies to host joint activities, enabling the elders to enjoy the conveniences brought by digitalisation, thereby enhancing their sense of digital empowerment.
To expand the reach of the programme, representatives continue to visit District Councils for promotions, leveraging the community influence of the District Councils to show more elders the convenience brought by technology applications, thereby helping to improve their living standards and sense of happiness.
Looking ahead, the programme will further deepen community connections and expand its collaborative network, aiming to benefit more elders and jointly build an elder-friendly smart city.
