Audio description outdoor tour service for visually impaired elderly provided by trained homeless elderly

The venture provides “outdoor described tours” for elderly with visual impairment. Audio description, tactile props and diagrams will be used to let the participants learn about the architecture and exhibits through sound and touch.

The venture will train homeless elderly from the Christian Concern for the Homeless Association to be outdoor tour guides and equip them with audio description skills. It will also train members from the Audio Description Association (Hong Kong) to be describers to conduct the outdoor tours.

The venture aims to build an inclusive community through fostering social participation and interaction of the visually impaired elderly and the homeless. It will also improve the presentation skill of the homeless tour guides and increase their income.
