Professional on-demand audio description services that translate movie visuals for the visually impaired

Currently, visually impaired persons are often discouraged from attending cinemas, film screenings or film festivals because of the lack of aids to help them understand the content of the films.

The venture aims to provide professional on-demand audio description services of films for the visually impaired. With the service, visuals in the films are translated into verbal descriptions, helping the visually impaired comprehend the messages of the films more easily. Apart from providing the services, the venture will also prepare training materials to train up the audio describers.

To ensure the quality of audio descriptions, visually impaired persons will be engaged as “description quality evaluators” to review and test the audio description scripts from a user’s perspective. The scripts will then be further improved to meet the needs of the visually impaired persons.
