Expectation towards Social Innovation and the SIE Fund

"Our society is now facing the threat of being polarized into the rich and the poor. For the less fortunate ones, uneven distribution of income and inadequate opportunities are detrimental to social mobility. Meanwhile, the youngsters also feel they can hardly find any opportunity for self-fulfillment.

It follows that social innovation really means much to our economy. The SIE Fund will provide funding for youngsters, grassroots and social entrepreneurs to put their innovative ideas into practice. It is expected that in the years to come, with the aid of SIE Fund, the efforts of social entrepreneurs will result in a wider range of social businesses which create more job opportunities and cater for our social needs in more innovative ways."
