Final Choices: Empowering Life Choices Through Virtual Reality
Final Choices: Empowering Life Choices Through Virtual Reality
Empowering underprivileged individuals to make informed end-of-life medical decisions through immersive education and outreach, with the aim of promoting more inclusive end-of-life planning
The venture aims to empower underprivileged individuals to make informed end-of-life medical decisions through immersive education and inclusive outreach. It prioritises accessibility of services to low-income groups by offering free Advance Medical Directives (AMD) services, while promoting a culture of respect, dignity, and proactive decision-making among beneficiaries, carers, healthcare professionals and members of communities through the use of technology.
The project will organise a series of community-based workshops that integrate Virtual Reality (VR) simulations to engage participants in realistic, first-person scenarios of end-of-life decision-making. These workshops target schools and local organisations across Hong Kong, and encourage participants to involve family members or trusted partners in the decision-making process. This approach ensures scalability and promotes inclusive end-of-life planning.
