SEN Tutoring and Training Project (Subsidized Scheme)

Training tutors and providing subsidised home tutoring service for children with special educational needs from low-income families

Riding on the success of its prototype project, the venture will continue to provide subsidised home tutoring service for children with special educational needs (SEN) from low-income families and professional training to university students and recent graduates as SEN tutors.

To scale up the prototype project, the venture will build the capacity of the parents of SEN children by enhancing their parenting and teaching skills. Also, tutors will be supervised by a team of multi-disciplinary supervisors (e.g. speech therapists, registered special education teachers). Educational psychologists will act as project consultants and provide advice to the supervisors on difficult cases and specific handling.

The venture will provide 30 hours of training to each tutor and a total of 4 050 hours of tutoring service to 90 SEN children. It is expected that six workshops will be organised for 90 parents of SEN children.
