    Providing therapeutic storytelling interventions and expressive arts workshops for preschool and elementary school children with special education needs from low-income families

     

     

    The project will organise a series of workshops and exhibitions using therapeutic storytelling and expressive arts interventions to enhance the emotional awareness, social development, and sense of security of children with special education needs (SEN) and their parents from low-income families, while equipping parents with a simple and innovative parenting approach to improve parent-child interaction.

    Suitable parents will also be selected to participate in a training programme for instructor assistants, providing employment opportunities to improve their living conditions. Two exhibitions will be held to showcase the impacts of this project.

    Expected Impact

    • Provide 8 sessions of “Parent-Centered: Healing Story Application and Writing Workshop” for 30 parents of SEN children from low-income families
    • Provide 24 sessions of “Parent-child Workshop: Storytelling through Art” for 30 SEN children and their parents
    • Organise 12 sessions of Facilitator Assistant Training Program for 8 parents
    • Organise 2 sessions of outcome exhibitions for 150 members of public
