Supporting low-income individuals residing in subdivided units or light public housing with affordable and high-quality furniture made with rice husks
The venture aims to address the challenges faced by the low-income individuals residing in the subdivided units or light public housing who often have limited access to sustainable, durable, and cost-effective furniture through customised design and production of furniture made by upcycling raw materials like rice husks into eco-friendly fibreboards, to improve their living conditions, quality of life and well-being while promoting the recycling of reusable materials to achieve sustainability. Additionally, the project will engage low-income students with special educational needs (SEN) by offering paid part-time job opportunities and training in management, production techniques, and environmental knowledge to enhance their career prospects and foster social cohesion.
