Make Maker Matters

community participation, elderly, Impact Innovation Lab

Allowing elders and students to co-design and co-create assistive products for elders, to foster intergenerational communication and social inclusion

The venture aims to promote intergenerational communication and mutual support between elders and students from low-income families through leveraging their design-thinking skills and the under-utilised maker equipment in schools, to co-create assistive products tailored for addressing elders’ daily challenges. Upon completing the basic maker training, students are equipped with essential maker skills to co-design products with elders. The project aspires to reduce elders’ loneliness and enhance their quality of life, with the dedication to fostering social cohesion and intergenerational inclusion in the society.
