Improving Access to Psychological Therapies – The Wellbeing Journey

start-up, healthcare, low-income families, Impact Incubator

Providing a mental health check-up programme and interventions for low-income families

The project aims to improve the mental wellbeing of low-income families by launching a mental health check-up programme with affordable, evidence-based, low-intensity psychological interventions.

Beneficiaries will be invited to join the mental health check-up programme by completing an online screening survey followed by an in-depth psychological assessment for free if eligible. Low-intensity psychological interventions, such as wellbeing workshops and guided psychotherapies, will be offered to those with mild to moderate mental health disturbances at an affordable price. Individuals with more severe mental distress will be referred to other professionals (i.e. clinical psychologists/psychiatrists) for high-intensity psychological interventions. Assessments and interventions provided by the venture will be conducted by professional psychological well-being practitioners who hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology recognised by the Hong Kong Psychological Society and are professionally trained by the Department of Psychology of The Chinese University of Hong Kong or other relevant institutions.
