Providing puppet training to retired young-old to enable them to gain a sense of purpose through volunteer visits to other elderly

The venture targets to provide puppet training to 60 retired young-old who will form a volunteering team to visit 170 elderly at elderly homes/centres and 30 elderly singletons.

Eight training sessions will be provided to the young-old, with content covering puppet skills, basic listening and counselling skills, etc. The last two training sessions will be a practicum for trainees to demonstrate what they have learnt and receive feedback from tutors. Through the volunteer work, the young-old could gain a sense of purpose through helping others, despite having retired from their previous job positions.
