Audio Description Services for Museums

prototype, community participation, persons with disabilities, Good Seed

On-demand audio description services that enable the blind and persons with low vision to understand museum exhibits

The visually impaired (VI) may seldom take part in museum visits. This venture aims to provide blind and people with low vision with professional audio description (AD) tours for museums so that the number and quality of their visits to museums can be increased.
This service provides VI not only with more opportunities to get access to museum exhibits but also more social interaction with describers, companions and other visitors through which a more socially inclusive community can be built. VI will be hired as Description Quality Evaluators and members of the underprivileged groups will be recruited as helpers and companions.
