Training programme in distance running for youth to improve physical and mental health as well as to explore a career in the field

Riding on the success of the project “Youth.ROC” in 2016 supported by the SIE Fund, RunOurCity Foundation Limited is taking forward a new project which provides a three-year all-rounded distance running and youth development programme to improve the physical and mental health of young people, as well as to offer coach training and job opportunities to them.

A training programme for primary and secondary school students will be provided. It includes training in distance running, character-building activities, personal coaching, coaching skills, and coach practising opportunities. The programme comprises components in four levels:

  • Youth.ONE Fundamental Training offers a 3-month running programme. At the end of the training, the participants will be able to complete a 10km run.
  • Youth.ONE Club provides a 12-month running training covering five different areas of activities.
  • Youth.ONE Leadership/Assistant Coach is a 6 to 12 months' leadership or assistant coach training programme.
  • Youth.ONE Project Executive/Coach offers a 6 to 12 months' training on project management, coaching, problem-solving and communication skills.
