    Caring Hand Spa

    Improving the overall well-being of stroke survivors and promoting social inclusion through the provision of in-home hand care services for stroke survivors with hand spasticity, hand care training and public education

     

     

    This venture aims to improve the hand mobility and overall well-being of stroke survivors experiencing hand spasticity through evidence-based in-home hand care services. The project also provides hand care training to women aged 50+, caregivers and volunteers alongside public education, aiming to raise awareness of stroke-related health needs and foster social inclusion.
    The project will deliver in-home hand care service, public educational events and different levels of hand care training courses. Qualified students will have the opportunity to participate in the hand care specialist course.

    • 40 underprivileged stroke survivors with hand spasticity receive 200 free in-home hand care sessions
    • 78 women aged 50+, caregivers and volunteers complete basic hand care training
    • 32 women aged 50+, caregivers and volunteers complete advanced hand care training
    • 8 qualified students complete hand care specialist course, with 2 students advancing to complete teaching assistant training
    • Public attendance of 200 across 9 public educational events
