Provision of mural painting training and work opportunity to help youth enhance self-confidence and social engagement

Art Muraler recruits unemployed or rehabilitated youth to provide voluntary mural painting services for single elderly living in old villages or outlying islands. Participating youth will talk and listen to the elderly. Based on stories and wishes shared by the elderly, and using excess tools and paint collected from construction companies, the youth team will refurbish the walls and by which visualise the elderly’s thoughts. Revenue will be generated from providing mural painting services to building owners’ corporations and other organisations.

Through this programme, participating youth can build self-confidence, develop creativity and enhance employability. While fostering inter-generation communication, this venture facilitates inheritance of community culture. It is also expected that the participants will be inspired to take the initiative further to give the needy a hand.

The venture has proceeded to start-up with funding support from the SIE Fund.
